New version 4.0 of the ECA Visual Inspection Guide published

The ECA Visual Inspection Group has published the new version 4.0 of its guide on the group's website. In addition to some clarifications, version 4.0 also contains a completely new chapter.

The new chapter describes the semi-automatic visual 100% inspection, which was not previously included in the document. Among other things, it lists important parameters that must be taken into account when validating the inspection process, such as lighting, conveyor speed, rotation and, if applicable, pre-rotation. It also mentions points such as checking the top and bottom of the container to ensure a complete inspection.

An important adjustment or specification concerns the description of the break times to be kept in the manual visual inspection in chapter 2.3.
The topic of trending (chapter 7.1) has also been optimised. If AQL limits are not met, it may make sense to change the inspection method from initial inspection to re-inspection. And the Annex 1 requirement for 'performance checks at regular intervals throughout the batch' for AV inspection was taken into account.

Members of the group can download the new version free of charge. If you are not yet a member, you can simply apply for free membership by completing the online registration form.
